With their knowledge, experience, and understanding of pharmacy ownership, they make decisions with your best interests in mind.
EPIC Rx is giving you an inside look into the lives of those on our Board of Directors. Meet Tyler Taylor, owner of St. Louis Hills Pharmacy in St. Louis, Missouri, and EPIC Rx board member since 2022.
Pharmacy wasn’t always the plan for Tyler. After high school, he attended community college for a year. With no clear vision for his future, he decided to join the Navy and entered the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program as a Nuclear Reactor Operator on a submarine.
Following his time in the Navy, Tyler found himself drawn to the world of pharmacy, inspired by his wife’s journey through pharmacy school. He returned to St. Louis to attend pharmacy school. At the same time, his father-in-law started his own pharmacy. Tyler and his wife helped build the pharmacy from the ground up. When his father-in-law retired in 2018, Tyler seized the opportunity and took over ownership of St. Louis Hills Pharmacy.
Not only was 2018 the year Tyler became an independent pharmacy owner, but it was also the year he joined EPIC Rx! Through EPIC Rx, Tyler says he has been given invaluable opportunities to increase profitability and appreciates the hard-working staff dedicated to working with pharmacists like himself. “Since EPIC Rx is member-owned and operated, they are committed to helping their members instead of making more profit for their operations. They have helped me with contracting and DIR issues and ensure PBMs and wholesalers uphold contract rates.”
Tyler joined the Board of Directors in early 2022 and enjoys having the opportunity to interact with store owners across the country who want to better the pharmacy landscape. “We work hard to give our members the opportunities to succeed in a difficult and uncertain business. While we don’t know what the future holds, we work hard to minimize risk and maximize benefits for our members.”
